APPROACH
Our warm, inviting, indoor learning spaces focus on nurturing creativity and allowing an easy flow between activities, while outdoor areas are designed to encourage exploration, adventure and connection to nature.
Given that we cater only for the pre-prep age group we have the ability to offer an array of daily activities targeted exclusively to this age group. This in turn provides us with the bandwidth to accommodate for many different interests and abilities, with each child embracing a more individualised learning program.
Tools for learning are thoughtfully laid out everyday to create a stimulating environment that encourages the children to learn deeply and freely and harness their innate curiosity.
Solo and group learning is encouraged in just the right ratios. Fun, play, learning and responsibility are age appropriate and encourage children’s natural desire for independence, willingness to try new things, and ability to persevere through daily challenges.

Our Philosophy

-
We believe every child shares connections to family, community, culture and place.
-
We recognise the real significance of the ‘here and now’ in children’s lives.
-
We believe every child has a right to experience learning that is holistic, engaging and builds lifelong success.
-
We believe children have the capacity and right to initiate and direct learning and to be active decision makers in all areas of the learning environment.
-
We celebrate individuality and encourage each child to reach their full potential in every area of development.
-
All people involved in, or visiting our centre are valued for their unique contributions to our pre-prep community. We work collaboratively to investigate and learn about our world.
-
We acknowledge the National Quality Standards as a valuable tool for families and educators to make informed decisions about the education and care of children. This incorporates the seven quality areas of:
1. Educational program and practice
2. Children’s health and safety
3. Physical environment
4. Staffing arrangements
5. Relationships with children
6. Collaborative partnerships with families & communities
7. Governance and leadership
-
Our motto is: Laugh hard! Play hard! And Think Hard! Each moment we live is a new and precious one; enjoy them as they happen.

Sustainability
We're also committed to protecting our environment to ensure a sustainable future for our children. Learning about sustainability starts with daily practice. Sustainable practices are embedded in the children’s daily routine and in their day-to-day activities and encourage the children to:
-
Use recyclable materials where possible
-
Bring package free lunches
-
Turn the water off when they have washed their hands
-
Recycle paper and rubbish at kindy, home and when in the community
-
Turn off lights when not in use by talking with the children about electricity
-
Care for plants
We also ask families to bring in recyclable items to use for arts and craft and invite families and other community members to share their sustainable ideas and practices.
